How to Unwind Your Body and Mind So You Can Rest Easy

we can't be forever switched on, or else very quickly we start to feel off.

We need to take the time to unwind our body and mind or we really can’t move as much as we want when we’re awake - and not just during our SUPERCHARGED® dance breaks and other fitness endeavors, but in every facet of our lives.

Not enough sleep, constantly worrying, and doing-too-much-too-fast catches up to us eventually - and then quickly saps our energy. To be SUPERCHARGED® we gotta Recharge, again and again. This might mean doing those stretches we mentioned in the must-watch video above - or a host of other awesome stretches out there.

One of the most profound ways to recharge is a personal MEDITATION practice.

Embarking upon your own meditation practice doesn’t mean you have to start wearing yoga-pants 24/7, light copious amounts of incense, and only eat organic tofu.

Meditation can be as flexible as you want it to be.

You can incorporate any wisdom or religious tradition out there.

(from a diverse array of well-known sources)

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without. – Buddha

It feels good. Kinda like when you have to shut your computer down, just sometimes when it goes crazy, you just shut it down and when you turn it on, it's okay again. That's what meditation is to me.  – Ellen De Generes

If you want to find God, hang out in the space between your thoughts. – Alan Cohen

When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a candle in a windless place. – Bhagavad Gita

The past has no power over the present moment. – Eckhart Tolle

Be still, and know that I am God. – Psalm 46:10

Meditation is like giving a hug to ourselves, getting in touch with that awesome reality in us. While meditating we feel a deep sense of intimacy with God, a love that is inexplicable. – Paramahansa Yogananda

God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer. – Mother Theresa

But don’t just take their word for it, or ours. There are many books, websites, and apps out there to help get you started on your own journey of relaxation by taking time to pause.

It’s a lot easier to have a happy body with positive music, and a happy mind with positive thoughts.
